Euphoria Retreat
Euphoria Retreat is a lighting design created for a spa in Mystras, Greece. The spa is a four-storey building of 3,000 square metres, carved into the base of a mountain. The lighting of each space was treated as a unique element, supporting a gradual and calming sensory journey. Daylight varies greatly from one space to another, so custom luminaires were designed to imitate daylight conditions. The custom luminaires harmonise the transitions between spaces and enhance the immersive architecture.
Euphoria Retreat Spa Lighting Design by Anna Sbokou and Matina Magklara was featured as a grand representation of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Euphoria Retreat Spa Lighting Design received the Golden A' Design Award in Lighting Products and Fixtures Design in 2021. The A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design accolade that celebrates superior design of chandeliers, pendant lights, wall sconces, table lamps, floor lamps, outdoor lights, recessed lights, track lights and more.
